Planning Committee held on Friday 30^th January 2009

There were none.

Coun. Mrs Margaret Healy proposed that Coun. Roy Butler be appointed chairman of the committee. This was seconded and carried. Coun. Mrs Angela Benney agreed to take minutes. Coun. Roy Butler opened the meeting and thanked Coun. Mrs Angela Benney.

Planning matters

 

Planning Application 08/02197/FUL 143 Browns Lane: new single storey dwelling.   

The committee members examined the documents submitted. Some questions and concerns were voiced as follows:

1.    The large sycamore tree was to be retained despite being only 5 meters from the dwelling. It could create problems in the future.

2.    Why was there an integral garage when there was a five-car garage on the site?

3.  A post-and-rail fence around the property might not be compatible with the neighbouring properties.

On the whole the committee agreed that the proposed building, although larger, was similar in style to the one it would replace, and there were no reasons why the plans should not be approved.

The chairman closed the meeting at 2.25pm.
