The Manor House dry moat bed

The grounds of the Manor taken from the bed of the dry moat, with the two sets of chimneys of the old Manor House just visible between the trees in the distance. No one is quite sure when the Manor House was actually built, but Sir William Rayner was in residence in September 1606 when the house was completely moated and is believed to have had a drawbridge.
