Minutes of a Meeting of STANTON ON THE WOLDS Parish Council held on Wednesday January 11, 2012, at 7.30pm, at the Parish Church, Stanton on the Wolds Couns. Jim Goodman (chairman) Mike Sheriston (vice chairman) (A) Bryan Baines Alex McKee Mrs Angela Benney Richard Whitby (A) Mrs Charlotte Chapman Also in attendance: The clerk Mike Elliott and one resident. 1] Apologies were received from Coun. Richard Whitby. 2] Declarations of Interest There were none. 3] Minutes from previous meeting held on November 9, 2011, were accepted as circulated and signed by the chairman after it was pointed out that Couns. Sheriston and Mrs Chapman had declared prejudicial interests at the meeting on planning matters 11/01658/FUL and 11/01598/FUL respectively and had left the meeting and had taken no part in the discussions on them. 4] Clerk’s Report from Previous Meeting There was nothing to report. 5] Correspondence The parish church had written to advise that on the date of the council meeting on March 14 there was a church service and so the meeting could not be held. It was agreed to hold it at the home of the chairman. It was confirmed that the meeting for May would be held on the 2nd. Nottinghamshire County Council said that final proposals on street light energy saving for the parish had been agreed and the reduction in lighting hours would come into operation shortly. BTCV Conservation Training Centre at Burton Joyce wrote to advise of the services it could offer through the availability of help from volunteers for conservation work. Rushcliffe Borough Council provided information on Year 2012 Community Events in the Borough including The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. 6] Planning Matters Planning Applications 11/01820/FUL Demolition of existing bungalow and erect replacement dwelling and double garage, entrance gates and wall; 5 Stanton Mews, Browns Lane. No objection 11/01971/FUL Single storey Narthex extension; St Margaret Clitherow, Willow Brook, Keyworth. No objection Rushcliffe Borough Council Decisions 11/01412/ADV Display of canopy fascia signs, spreader box signs and free-standing twin-leg pole sign; The Wolds Service Station, 198 Melton Road. Grant Consent 11/01507/FUL Two storey side extension, porch to front, wall and railings to front boundary; 138A Browns Lane. Grant Permission 11/01598/FUL Two storey front extension, pitched roofs to existing flat roofed single and two storey rear accommodation, rebuild conservatory, single storey rear extension (revised documents); Lime House, 42 Stanton Lane. Grant Permission 11/01617/FUL Single storey side extension; The Granary, Browns Lane. Refuse Permission 11/01625/FUL Change of use from house to Bed and Breakfast; Foxcote, Melton Road. Grant Permission 11/01658/FUL Single storey conservatory extension to rear; 144 Melton Road. Grant Permission 7] Village Amenities / Environment It was agreed not to progress the question of a village walk at the current time but to wait until after the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The chairman said he had been informed the footpath at the junction of Thurlby Lane and Stanton Lane going in the direction of the disused horse stables was in a poor condition and the stiles on it were in a poor state. The chairman said he would inspect the footpath in question. Members were advised that the free salt provided by Notts County Council was stored at the home of Coun. Whitby and was available for any member who was aware of any trouble spots. 8] Financial Matters Members authorised payment of accounts as per the schedule presented. The council discussed a budget report presented by the clerk in connection with expenditure for the coming year. Members agreed that the precept for 2012/2013 should be the same as in the current financial year, £4,632. 9] Website Update There was no report. 10] Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Coun. Mrs Benney said arrangements were well in hand for the celebrations and planning meetings were going well. There would be a need for any gazebos that might be available from residents and it might be that a number of chairs and tables would also be needed. It was confirmed the council intended to proceed with the plans for a bonfire. Contact would be made with the parish church and the golf club to ensure they were given the opportunity to take part in the celebrations. 11] Community Speed Watch There was little to report. Coun. Whitby had offered to be involved. 12] Nottinghamshire Approach to Localism The clerk reported a second letter from Notts County Council giving details of what was possible in respect of new responsibilities for parish councils was expected soon. 13] Parish Plan The chairman said he was planning to obtain a copy of the Keyworth Design Statement so that members could look at what was included in it. 14] Agenda Items For Next Meeting A meeting of the Police Priority Group was planned and Coun. Mrs Benney would report on it at the next meeting. 15] Public Session Standing Orders were suspended. The amount of rubbish alongside Melton Road was raised and the clerk was asked to investigate the condition of a particular property and the state of its surrounds. The meeting was told it was planned to hold a special service for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at the parish church on the Sunday morning of the Jubilee weekend in June. Standing Orders were reinstated. There being no further business the meeting closed at 9.04pm. |
