Minutes of a meeting of STANTON ON THE WOLDS Parish Council held on Thursday January 18, 2007 at 3pm at the Parish Church Couns. Alex McKee. 163/07] Declarations of Interest There were none. 164/07] Minutes from previous meeting held on November 8, 2006, were presented, approved and signed by the chairman after typing errors had been corrected. 165/07] Clerk’s report There was nothing to report. 166/07] Correspondence Nottinghamshire Rural Community Council advised of a Farewell Buffet and Reception on February 20 at Newstead Village to mark the retirement of their Chief Executive Dr Bob Middleton after 29 years service. They also advised of a Funding Seminar to be held at Keyworth on March 21, 2007 and Coun. Hackett said he would attend. Nottinghamshire County Council wrote in respect of the condition of trees on Browns Lane and said they would carry out any work deemed necessary. A letter was received from Nottinghamshire Association of Local Councils with the minutes of their 61st Annual General Meeting and seeking contacts for Community Newsletters in the parish. The clerk was to complete the form. Nottinghamshire County Council said the criteria was not met for Slow warning markings at the junction of Willowbrook and Stanton Lane. The meeting confirmed the letter to be sent out to new comers to the village. It was agreed the clerk sign a stock of them and each member be supplied a small quantity to keep ready for distribution. 167/07] Planning matters Planning Applications 06/01722/FUL D Stoppiello & F Akbari, Palisade fencing; The Wolds Service Station, 198 Melton Road. No Objections but the parish council submitted comments expressing their disappointment that the fence in question had been erected without adherence to the condition set out in the planning approval and that planting that has taken place was of dwarf conifers rather than a higher level of trees/bushes that would have offered more relief without impinging on security. 06/02022/FUL Mr Singh; Two storey side and rear extensions, dormer windows, detached garage; 61 Stanton Lane. A copy letter has been received from R K Lindley of 59 Stanton Lane in regard to the above application advising of their comments submitted to the Borough Council. The matter was left undecided. 06/02099/FUL Chris Poullett; Two storey rear extension; Ivy Cottage, 126 Melton Road. No Objections Rushcliffe Borough Council Decisions 06/01791/FUL Linda Armstrong; Single storey linking extension between property and garage, single storey side extensions, alteration of garage to form utility space; Willow View, 6 Charleswold Court, Thurlby Lane. Grant Permission 06/01722/FUL D Stoppiello & F Akbari; Palisade fencing; The Wolds Service Station, 198 Melton Road. Grant Permission A local resident commented that he felt all that could be done in regard to this item had been and he was happy to leave the matter as it was. 168/07] Reports from outside organisations There were none presented. 169/07] Village amenities / environment The chairman said he intended to produce a laminated notice to be affixed to the footpath sign leading from Stanton Lane to the Golf Course asking dog owners not to let their animal foul the footpath. 170/07] Financial matters The accounts schedule was approved for payment Precept / Budget 2007/2008: Members discussed a report presented by the clerk outlining suggested expenditure items for the coming year and agreed unanimously to make no change to the current council tax precept and fixed it at a figure of £4,542. 171/07] Village History Book The chairman presented a report and said he estimated the current book sale was now 200 copies and he was delighted with the success of it. He thanked members for their efforts in selling the book and said he hoped they would continue. It was agreed to write letters of thanks to Mrs Margaret Eggleston at Keyworth Post Office and Mr Iain McMillan at the Wolds Service Station for their efforts in selling the book. 172/07] Parish Council Website The chairman reported that Alan and Val Hunt had prepared two suggested designs for a village web site and had also input a good deal of information for it. The council agreed unanimously that progress should be made on such a service for the village and costings were to be investigated. The chairman said he would take the matter forward. 173/07] Parish Elections May 3, 2007 The clerk reported that the Borough Council would publish the Notice of Election on March 27. If elections were necessary voting would be on May 3. Counting would not take place until the following day. It was agreed the attention of residents to the election and the need for nominations to be received would be highlighted in the council newsletter. 174/07] Parish Newsletter Distribution Following some uncertainty on the delivery of the Parish Council newsletter, arrangements were clarified as follows: Stanton Lane, odd numbers, plus Manor Farm House: Coun. Hackett. Stanton Lane, even numbers, Willow Brook, Widmerpool Lane, Golf Course Road: Coun. Goodman Melton Road, Browns Lane: Coun. Jackson. Charleswold Court, Thurlby Lane: Coun. McKee. It was agreed that the deadline for receipt of the newsletter from the parish clerk should be the 26th of the month prior to deliver, to synchronise with the delivery of Keyworth News. The council were told that Coun. Jackson had parishioners to assist him with Melton Road and Browns Lane. Coun. Healy offered to assist with Browns Lane if required. The next issue would be at the end of February. 175/07] Refuse Collection The chairman said Coun. McKee had asked for the item to be raised because he was concerned at reports that local authorities might start charging for refuse collection. The member felt this would lead to an increase in fly tipping. It was agreed the clerk write to Rushcliffe Borough Council and express their concerns at any move to make a charge for the service. Coun. Butler said as far as he was aware Rushcliffe Borough Council had no current intentions to levy such a charge. 176/07] Next Meeting: The date of the next meeting was agreed for March 14 at 7.45pm and the Annual Parish Meeting and Annual General Meeting of the council for May 9. The parish meeting would start at 7.00pm. The chairman would produce an annual report for house-to-house distribution. 177/07] Public Session No items were raised. The meeting closed at 4.10pm |
