Minutes of a meeting of STANTON ON THE WOLDS Parish Council held on Wednesday July 19, 2006, at the Parish Church at 7.30pm Couns. Dennis Hackett (Chairman) Roy H Butler Bryan Baines Alan Jackson (A) Mrs Margaret Healy (Vice-chairman) Jim E Goodman Alex McKee The clerk Mike Elliott and one member of the public were also in attendance. 121/06] Apologies Received from Coun. Alan Jackson.122/06] Declarations of Interest There were none. 123/06] Minutes from previous meeting held on June 1, 2006, were presented, approved and signed by the chairman. 124/06] Clerk’s report The meeting was advised that the clerk had forwarded the map and photographs provided by Coun. Butler to the County Council highways department and now awaited further comments from them. 125/06] Correspondence Rushcliffe Borough Council advised of an Open Space Audit they were undertaking. It was agreed the paperwork be circulated. Rushcliffe Borough Council advised they were joining their Small Environmental Improvement Schemes programme 2006/2007 and Parish Planting and Landscaping schemes as one for the year. It was agreed to await details of an existing approval by the Borough Council for a scheme to refurbish the area where the village sign stood. Notts County Council acknowledged the photographs and map provided by Coun. Butler on the footway condition on Melton Road and said they would be investigating. Notts County Council advised of an HGV restriction assessment for Browns Lane but the council felt this was not necessary and the clerk was asked to ascertain who had sought action to be taken. 126/06] Planning matters Planning Applications 06/01039/FUL Mrs Denton and Mr Gulliver; Erect detached house and detached double garage, following demolition of existing dwelling; Broadleaves, 40 Stanton Lane. Object. 06/01108/FUL Mr Hallam; Two storey side extension; 61a Stanton Lane. To be circulated Rushcliffe Borough Council Decisions 06/00337/FUL Mr and Mrs Roe; Formation of vehicular access drive; Glebe Farm, 21 Browns Lane. Grant Permission. 127/06] Reports from outside organisations There were none. 128/06] Village amenities / environment No items were raised. A report was received from Mr Alan Jackson on the annual Condition survey on public rights of way in the parish. 129/06] Financial matters The accounts schedule was approved for payment: 130/06] Village History Book The chairman updated members on the production of the book and confirmed earlier discussions giving the printing contract to Adlards at Ruddington at a price of £3,300 for a 112-page publication. The book launch would take place at the Golf Club on Tuesday August 8 at 7pm with wines and nibbles being served. A door-to-door delivery of personal invitations would take place and responses would be required back by August 4. Coun. Mrs Healy said arrangements for the launch as far as the Golf Club were concerned had been confirmed and the cost would be £4.50 per head. Two village residents had agreed to meet the cost of the reception between them, but wished to remain anonymous. It was agreed that each home in the village would be presented with a book and others would be on sale at £5 per copy. The council agreed to meet the costs incurred by Mr Alan Hunt who was editing the publication. He was also to mount a small exhibition of fossils on the night of the launch. It was agreed that Coun. Butler should make the presentation of books to four chosen residents with a long connection to the village. 131/06] Thomas Ousley Charity Trust The chairman presented a paper outlining the history of the Trust that dated back to 1718. He said the current income of the Trust was around £170 a year, that being interest gained on the capital and which was the only cash available for distribution. A letter from the Charity Commission dated July 27, 1954 stated that the parish council had authority to appoint four trustees, not necessarily members of the council. The period of office was four years from the date of the parish council meeting at which an appointment was made. The council agreed that the four appointees to the Trust should be Couns. Mrs Margaret Healy, Coun. Jim Goodman, Mr Elwyn Bradshaw and Mr John Stockbridge. 132/06] Road Signs The chairman reported that the Thurlby Lane road sign was still missing and the Browns Lane one that had been damaged had not been repaired. The clerk was asked to inform Notts County Council of the situation. 133/06] Next Meeting The date of the next meeting was agreed for September 13. 134/06] Public Session Matters involving speeding traffic on the A606 road, roadside advertising and streetlights were raised.
