Mrs Margaret Healy was re-elected and signed the necessary form of acceptance of office. 285/8] ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN Coun. Jim Goodman was re-elected. 286/8] APOLOGIES were received from Coun. John Cottee (Nottinghamshire County Council). 287/8] DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST There were none. 288/8] MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING held on March 12, 2008, were accepted as presented and signed by the chairman. 289/8] CLERK’S REPORT There was nothing to report 290/8] CORRESPONDENCE
It was agreed that members should
respond individually to a Nottinghamshire County Council letter in respect of
Government Eco-Town consultation, and that a copy of the letter received be
forwarded to members. The consultation site provided by the Government was
http://www.communities.gov.uk Rushcliffe Borough Council presented a report on their Town and Parish Council Liaison Forum on glass recycling that the chairman and clerk had attended. Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire gave notice of its Annual General Meeting at the Civic Centre on Thursday November 6, 2008. Nottinghamshire County Council advised of its Civic Service on July 13, 2008, at Southwell Minster. Nottinghamshire County Council advised of its Building Better Communities Annual Event on Tuesday June 17, 2008, at Mansfield. Nottinghamshire County Council informed that it was now responsible for parking enforcement in the county, having taken over the powers from the police as from May 12, 2008. It was agreed an item be reported in the next newsletter on the parking of vehicles on roadside verges on Melton Road. Nottinghamshire County Council gave confirmation of a Footpath No. 7 Diversion Order. It was agreed not to enter the Nottinghamshire Branch of Campaign to Protect Rural England Best Kept Village Competition 2008. 291/8] PLANNING MATTERS Planning Applications 08/00459/FUL L A and A D McLaren; Two storey agricultural workers dwelling; OS Field 5133, Browns Lane. The council objected on a number of grounds. 08/00479/FUL Mr M Leckie; Single storey rear extension with attached outdoor hot tub and decking; 60 Stanton Lane. No objection 08/00515/FUL Metronet Rail Ltd; Upgrading and electrification of the railway test track and related works including testing of electric trains with 3rd and 4th DC power and temporary installation of a signalling system. Variation of the condition to planning permission 02/1368/VAR to allow increased frequency of passes from 4.5 per hour to 12 passes per hour averaged across any working day on the upgraded section of track only; Railway Test Track Crossing Station Road Upper Broughton. The aplication has been withdrawn. 08/00539/FUL Mr S J McIntosh; Replacement dwelling; 143 Browns Lane. The council did not object in principal but raised the question of overlooking windows and damaged trees and other plantings. 08/00645/FUL Mr Varley; Alterations to dwelling, including insertion of new window; 3 Charleswold Court, Thurlby Lane. Grant Permission 292/8] VILLAGE AMENITIES / ENVIRONMENT Further discussion took place on the Borough Council’s Planning Policy document but it was agreed that no further action be taken until the Planning Seminar they plan to hold in September 2008. The chairman said she had visited the Borough Council’s website and found the contents of the Planning Policy too detailed to report on easily. 293/8] FINANCIAL MATTERS The council authorised payment of accounts. The council received the completed accounts for the 2007/2008 financial year and approved them as presented. The chairman signed the audit report form. 294/8] ALLOCATION OF RESPONSIBILITIES The chairman asked that members confirm their willingness to undertake various duties in the coming year as follows: Footpaths: Couns. Goodman and Sheriston Notice Boards: Couns. Baines, Mrs Healy and Hackett Website: Coun. Hackett History Book sales: Coun. Hackett Parish Council Newsletter distributors: All members On the matter of the newsletter, it was agreed one be published during the May Bank Holiday week and to include a version of the chairman’s Annual Report presented to the parish meeting. 295/8] FUTURE PLANS The chairman said she would like to see a parish leaflet produced on the village footpaths and suggested also the possibility of staging a guided footpath walk/picnic. She asked members to think on other ideas and report them to the next meeting. Future meeting dates were agreed as follows: July 9, 2008, September 10, 2008, November 12, 2008, January 14, 2009, March 11, 2009, and May 13, 2009. 296/8] PUBLIC SESSION No items were raised. 297/8] AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING The question of the speed limit in the village was to be raised. The meeting closed at 8.40pm. |
